About Pete Alewine Pool & Spa
Proudly Building Pools and Lasting Relationships across the CSRA and
Midlands Since 1998
Pete Alewine is a lifelong resident of Columbia County. He graduated from Evans High School in 1978 and married his high school sweetheart, Toni, in 1980. Together they have been blessed with three children and nine grandchildren.
Pete’s first job began in June of 1977 with a local pool company, Aarbour Pool & Patio. Over the next 21 years, he gained a thorough understanding of swimming pool construction, service, and business ownership. Eventually, Pete and Toni felt led to start a company of their own. Through much prayer, Pete Alewine Pool Company was born in December 1998.
Growth & Expansion
From its humble beginnings, Pete Alewine Pool & Spa has grown into a trusted name throughout the CSRA and Midlands and beyond. Pete Alewine Pool Company is a fully licensed Commercial Pool Contractor in the State of South Carolina, where licensing is required, and proudly builds residential and commercial pools throughout South Carolina and Georgia. We are also CPO (Certified Pool Operator) certified, meaning our team has completed the nationally recognized training and examination required to properly and safely operate, maintain, and manage public swimming pools and spas, ensuring water chemistry, safety standards, and facility operations meet the highest industry guidelines.
Over the last 25+ years, we have been involved in the design and build of more than 6,000 swimming pools and expanded our services to include two retail locations:
- Our Evans, GA location at 4470 Washington Road, opened in 2004.
- Our Lexington, SC location at 5541 Sunset Blvd, opened in 2019.
Today, Pete Alewine Pool & Spa offers custom in-ground swimming pools, pool renovations, service and repairs, weekly cleanings, pool supplies, hot tubs, saunas, and unmatched customer experience.
Our Commitment
From the beginning, our mission has been simple: to provide families in the Evans, Augusta, Aiken, Columbia, Lexington, and surrounding areas with a company they can trust and rely on for all their pool service needs—long after the pool is completed.
We take pride in creating swimming pools that are not only beautiful, but built to last. Our dedication to excellence has been recognized with more than 50 Design Awards through the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA) Georgia Chapter.
Since the company’s earliest days, Pete and Toni’s middle son, Paul Alewine, has played an active role in the growth of the company.
Paul is an Advanced CBP Certified Pool & Spa Building Professional and a Certified Pool & Spa Maintenance Specialist (CMS). He currently serves as Vice President of the Georgia Chapter of the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA). His leadership, advanced certifications, and industry involvement ensure that our customers benefit from the latest standards, proven best practices, and a depth of knowledge that only true specialists can provide. This commitment to professional excellence sets Pete Alewine Pool & Spa apart and gives our customers confidence that every project and service is backed by generational expertise they can trust.
Most importantly, we value the relationships we’ve built with our customers. A pool is a big investment, and our goal is to design and maintain a space where you can relax, make memories, and enjoy life with family and friends for years to come.
The Pete Alewine Team
Our ability to maintain this commitment comes from an outstanding, talented, and tenured core group of team members, many who have worked with Pete since the very beginning. Whether you’re working with our Sales Team on a new pool design, our Construction Teams in the field, our Service Department for repairs and upgrades, or visiting our Retail Team in-store, you’ll be dealing with a pool professional dedicated to giving you the Pete Alewine Pool & Spa experience.
We are grateful for the journey so far and look forward to continuing to serve families in our area!

The PHTA Georgia Chapter and their Vice President. Paul Alewine, joined Senator Shawn Still and Olympic Gold Medalist Rowdy Gaines at the Georgia State Capitol on June 6, 2023, to promote water safety and drowning prevention. Gaines emphasized swim lessons as a lifesaving tool, while Senator Still’s new act now requires schools to provide water safety information to parents of students under 18.

The PHTA Georgia Chapter Design Awards honor outstanding pool, spa, and hot tub projects
that showcase beauty, innovation, and technical excellence. Each year, our team is proud to attend and bring home awards that we proudly display in our showroom.

Proud and honored to host a group from one of our local schools on a field trip for their ‘Backyard Getaway’ project. Students learned about pool construction, land elevation, plumbing, and more as they designed their outdoor space, asking great questions and having fun along the way!

From his first pool job in 1977 to founding Pete Alewine Pool Company in 1998, Pete’s journey has always been about faith, family, and community.
